What is a night splint?

A night splint is a specialised orthopaedic device designed to address specific conditions or injuries during sleep. In the context of orthopaedics, a derotation boot, derotation boot cast, or derotation shoe may serve as a night splint, providing support and stability to the affected limb during nighttime rest. Additionally, a boot and bar splint, often used for pediatric orthopaedic conditions, can function as a night splint to promote proper alignment and healing while the wearer sleeps. These devices are tailored to offer therapeutic benefits, aiding in the recovery process for various musculoskeletal issues.
