Wrist & Thumb

Wrist & Thumb

Wrist

The wrist is a complex joint that bridges the hand to the forearm. Comprised of the distal ends of the radius and ulna, eight carpal bones, and the proximal portions of the five metacarpal bones, the wrist joint is supported and stabilized by ligaments and muscles that also aid in movements. A sports injury or trauma can easily cause the wrist to sprain. In such an event, it’s best to use a wrist support to ensure fast and complete recovery from the injury.

Vissco wrist supports are scientifically designed to provide stability and support to the wrist joint helping the patient enjoy a smooth rehabilitation. Wrist supports reduce pain by minimizing pressure and load on the wrist. They are designed using specific materials that make them comfortable to wear even when you’re deeply engaged in physical activities.

Thumb

A pain in the thumb can make your otherwise cheerful spirit go numb. Did you know that the thumb is the most mobile joint in your entire body?

The thumb joint is formed by the metacarpal bone and articulates with the trapezium bone of the wrist. The surfaces of these bones are covered by articular cartilage. Injury or trauma to the thumb such as a fracture or sprain can all lead to pain and limited function. Conservative treatment is the most effective means of treating thumb pain. The treatment can be done by resting the joint through limiting some of the aggravating activities by using a thumb support.

Vissco thumb supports are scientifically designed to reduce pressure and load on the thumb. The shape and material of the supports makes them comfortable to wear and help in functional activities.
